I’ll Have Another…
is what stellaHeron customers and horse racing enthusiasts will be chanting come June 9 at the Belmont Stakes. Bodemeister was overtaken in the last furlongs of both the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness Stakes by the darling I’ll Have Another. Not since Big Brown in 2008 have we had a potential Triple Crown winner on the line at Belmont. A race I remember with sadness, as the sweltering heat of June in NY had us all fanning ourselves with our Daily Racing Forms as Big Brown crumbled on the track.
In 1978, Affirmed won the prestigious title of “Triple Crown” winner. One of eleven in all of racing history. As I am prepping my outfit for the 2012 Belmont Stakes races, my hat is the most important accessory for the choosing. Up until this afternoon, the little gem posted above was my most favorite piece I have made this season, thus the winner of my triple-crown-celebrating-outfit. However, I must say this piece has become the Bodemeister of my collection, being trumped just this afternoon by the sweetest little guy I have ever laid eyes on.
